"The Glitter Clowns" presents: Evel Knievel (Daredevil Clown)

[Verse 1] He came from the dirt in a suit made of stars White leather shining over fractures and scars Every ramp was a prayer, every crash was a show Blood in the helmet, but the cameras don’t know [Pre-Chorus] Kids in the playground with his toy in their hands Dreaming of glory while he’s breaking on the sand [Chorus] Evel Knievel, daredevil clown Jumping over death while the cheering drowns Evel Knievel, king of the fall Smile through the pain, give them one and all [Verse 2] Snake River Canyon, he kissed the sky that day Came back in pieces, but the legend wouldn’t fade Thirty bones shattered, still he signed the cast While children played hero with his toy in the grass [Bridge – dramatic] One more jump, one more prayer in vain One more time the body breaks for fame The lights keep burning, the crowd demands more This is the circus — the clown bleeds on the floor [Final Chorus – powerful & tragic] Evel Knievel, daredevil clown Still flying through fire when the lights go down Evel Knievel, forever he tries In a white leather coffin under glitter skies [Outro – haunting & quiet] Crash and burn… or touch the sun… The children keep playing… The show… must go on…
