Verses by Ivan P. https://suno.com/@pravdazaodessuredaktor [Intro] [Chorus] The jester danced from dawn to night, He couldn't pause, not once, mid-flight. For close behind, both bright and still, His death would match him, step and will. So round they went — a laughing pair, Both tightly bound and light as air. He wed his jest, through joy and pain, Till death would part them. Amen. [Verse 1] I lie here now, my breath runs thin, A jester’s life, soaked deep in sin. Yet some bold tales demand retelling — The ones I lived, the wild, compelling. The king was young, his bride was fair, The court assembled, proud and rare. I tripped the king, then kicked his rear, The court gasped loud, the crown took flight, It rolled beneath the royal seat, Within the theatre's grand retreat. The guards seized me, I knelt down low — The young king smiled, his temper slow: “Good fool, I’ll pardon this offence, If your apology’s more coarse and dense.” I bowed and said with measured grace, “Forgive me, sire, I took you for the queen herself.” [Verse 2] My breath is thin, the end is near, Yet still I laugh — and call you in. One tale remains, both cold and true — Of power’s mask, and what it blew. The king once asked: “Where goes the gold? We raise the tax, yet still lose hold.” The courtiers stared into their sleeves, No voice replied — though each one knew. I took some ice, a heavy block, And sent it 'round — it stirred the flock. By hands it passed from peer to peer — Then reached the king — a drop, unclear. The rest had melted, greedy heat On grasping palms that drank it sweet — That melted not just ice, but gold. They saw the point — and I was sold. They passed me round just like a whore, For daring truths they all abhor. [Verse 3] My voice grows faint, my chest is tight, But one last truth must reach the light. I’ve seen men crowned in royal pride — With crowns too big for hearts inside. They fall askew upon the eyes — And blind the world’s unfolding cries. Then slipping low, they plug the ears — To drown out counsel, pain, and fears. They seal the lips, like iron clasped — No truth escapes the silent gasp. Then round the neck, the crown descends — A golden leash that twists and bends. They'll seize the leash that once was gold, And lead you where the axe is cold. [Chorus] The jester danced from dawn to night, He couldn't pause, not once, mid-flight. For close behind, both bright and still, His death would match him, step and will. So round they went — a laughing pair, Both tightly bound and light as air. He wed his jest, through joy and pain, Till death would part them. Amen. [Chorus] The jester danced from dawn to night, He couldn't pause, not once, mid-flight.
