The immense ceiling vanished into an artificial night sky where living constellations slowly drifted like spirits above the hall. Ravens crossed the heights in silence while distant thunder rolled beyond the celestial walls. Odin sat upon his throne, perfectly still despite the weight of centuries resting upon his shoulders. His single eye stared into the void as though he could see beyond time itself. Beside him stood Eir, her head lowered, hands tightly clasped against her pale robe embroidered with sacred symbols. The great doors suddenly opened. Freyja entered with sharp steps, her frost-covered cloak trailing behind her. Anger burned in her eyes, restrained only by sheer discipline. "My dear Eir... do you see what happens when we interfere with the world of men? Midgard is not a playground. We need them and..." Odin slowly raised his hand. "My dear Freyja, I was already speaking to our young friend about this. I warned her of the risks long ago." Freyja clenched her jaw. "So you knew? Jormungandr revealed himself. He raised the oceans to crush the hope we place upon them. The serpent seeks eternal chaos." Eir finally lifted her gaze, guilt weighing heavily upon her. "I... I could not let my son die." Silence fell across the hall. Odin gently placed a hand upon the healer goddess' shoulder. "I understand your choice. You believe your son still has a role to play in this world. It was a dangerous gamble... but perhaps a necessary one." He paused before continuing, his voice growing darker. "That is why Thor intervened." Even Freyja remained silent. Odin slowly rose from his throne. The flames inside the braziers trembled immediately. "When Jormungandr emerged from the abyss, the oceans themselves split beneath his body. Waves rose higher than the mountains of Midgard. The sky darkened beneath his venom." His voice echoed through the entire hall. "Thor struck him in the heart of the storm. Mjölnir shattered lightning itself while the serpent tried to coil around the world beneath its endless body. Every blow shook the Nine Realms." Freyja crossed her arms, listening carefully despite her anger. "The humans saw lightning falling beyond the clouds. They heard monstrous roars within the heavens. Some even believed they saw a figure walking upon the waves." A tired smile briefly crossed Odin's face. "Thor shattered several of the serpent's fangs. Jormungandr spat venom directly into his face. The seas became black as death itself." The old god slowly raised his gaze toward the vaulted darkness above. "But my son could not kill the serpent. Not yet. Fate still refuses their final battle." Eir spoke softly. "So... they survived because of him?" "Because of all of them," Odin answered. "Thor merely bought them time. The humans felt our presence within the storm. Fear forces them to believe once more." Freyja finally seemed calmer. "And now?" A heavy silence settled across the hall. Odin watched the fire dancing within the braziers before answering. "Now... we must believe in those who still believe in us." Meanwhile, in Midgard, cold wind swept across the rocky shores of the island where Helena, Min and Johannes had found refuge. Their soaked clothes still clung to their skin and every breath felt painful after hours spent inside the freezing ocean. Min slowly regained consciousness while Helena stared anxiously toward the horizon. Johannes approached them carefully. "How are you both? Any injuries?" Helena immediately turned toward him. "What happened to you during the storm? You looked like you were suffering... like something inside you was tearing you apart." Johannes gently helped Min stand before answering. "The spirits of the gods awakened. Jormungandr wanted chaos... and he obtained it. The storm was a test." Helena frowned. "That still doesn't explain why you were in pain." Johannes inhaled deeply before briefly looking toward Min. She silently nodded. Helena immediately noticed the exchange. "What are you two hiding from me?" Min finally spoke, her voice weak. "Helena... we need to talk to you. But not now. Tonight, alright? First we need shelter." "And we need to find the others," Johannes added. "I hope they survived." Helena's gaze drifted toward the ocean. "My brother... my father... the queen... they must have drifted somewhere else..." Her voice nearly broke. Silence settled between them before Min looked at Helena with emotion filling her eyes. "I never thanked you. I know you blame me for Ingrid but... you still saved me. I..." Helena interrupted her immediately. "It's nothing. Save your strength. If we truly want to find Yggdrasil someday, maybe it's time we stop hiding secrets." Nobody answered. But Min and Johannes exchanged a heavy glance. For the first time in many years, Min felt something other than fear. A fragile spark of hope. 💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍 Mjǫllnir gnýr Miðgarðsormr rís Sær rifnar hart Þrumur vakna Hamarr fellr fast Elding klýfr svart loft Ormr hvæssir hátt Eitr brennr djúpt Guðir öskra nú Brim drekkir níu heima Heya heya hmmm Sssááá rrraaa Vindr ét hold Blóð fellr kalt Þórr stendr enn Á móti svartri sæbölvun Ormr snýst fast Sjór deyr hægt Eldar gráta nú Ragnarök andar nær Járn ok stormr Guðir hrynja Mjǫllnir syngr Særinn vaknar Vánir Sævar Vánir Sævar brenna Vánir Sævar Blóð í himni fellr Vánir Sævar Stormr ét hjarta guða Við deyjum standandi Vánir Sævar The waves still call Inside my mind Too many lies Still buried in silence I saw your fear Behind your eyes And for the first time I no longer feel alone I could... speak now Maybe... finally The storm broke chains I buried deep inside me Frozen Tides (Frozen Tides...)
