Chapter VII: In the Lair of the Wyrm

V4.5+

The darkness beckons from the depths, It calls my name with voices grim A path of ruin winds downhill, Through silence older than my fears. Heat drifts upward from the deep, The air is thick with smoke and ash. A pungent stench of blood and doom Fills the den of ancient evil. In the lair of the wyrm! Where fire and destiny collide In the lair of the wyrm! By Grimbane’s light, one shall die Steel against scale, oath against flame Let the mountain remember my name My fate awaits as vengeance burns Deep within the lair of the wyrm! Where fire and destiny collide In the lair of the wyrm! By Grimbane’s light, one shall die Steel against scale, oath against flame Let the mountain remember my name My fate awaits as vengeance burns Deep within the lair of the wyrm! With fearsome jaws and fueled by hate, A tail that carves the stone to dust, Delivers forth the breath of doom, The fire’s kiss, a burning death. If only they could sing my tale. Above the peaks, the thunder fades, No glory left to claim. The mountain keeps its mystery, The secret sealed within the vault of stone, Of blood, of fate foretold. Yet in this den of untamed rage, A stranger’s tomb is what remains. My bones decay to nameless lore In the lair of the wyrm...
