(Spoken, kind of tired but frantic, clicking sounds of Lego bricks in the background) Yeah... so it’s like... late. Really late. And I’m sitting here on the floor, and my knees kind of hurt, but... I don't wanna stop. (Beat kicks in - simple, bouncy piano chords) (Verse 1 - Fast, spoken-word cadence) Good night. It’s the night where I really wish I didn't have to go to sleep. You know that feeling? When your brain is finally clicking? I wanna just keep on creating, I’m in the zone, man! But I gotta... I gotta keep on grinding. I gotta get that paycheck. Working this body, breaking a sweat, just to collect... A mediocre paycheck? What the HECK! Seriously, what the heck is that about?! I’m trading my best hours for pocket change! (Chorus - Building up, getting loud and emotional) But it’s GOOD NIGHT! Yeah! Farewell until tomorrow! It’s GOOD NIGHT! I’m not even tired! I'm literally wide awake! But I have to go... 'Cause I got a job I don’t want! So it’s GOOD NIGHT! NIGHT! Yeah, just turn the lights out, I guess! (Verse 2 - Conversational, pointing at the floor) Look, I just wanna stay awake and play. I wanna build to the sky, like... skyscraper high. Look at these pieces! These pieces are right, okay? I wanna fit them so tight, lock 'em into place. And make a picture... a perfect picture. Like the one on the box, but better, because I made it! But I CAN’T! (Yelling a little bit, frustrated) Because I have to peace out! I have to put the bricks down and pretend to be an adult! (Bridge - Melodramatic, hitting the high notes awkwardly but passionately) Good night, sweet dreams... Tomorrow seems so far away, doesn't it? It feels like a whole sleep... and then a whole 9-to-5 away. Eight hours of staring at the clock, thinking about the colors. Thinking about the plastic. But I will be back! Hear me?! I will be back to my Lego play! (Outro - Piano slows down, voice drops to a quiet, breathless whisper) So... good night. Good night. I'm losing it. Fading fast now. (Yawn) Peace out.
