[Verse] Trash can crowns and a tattered parade A raccoon wanders through shadows he made Flag of wrappers held in his clawed hand Midnight gutter king roams this land [Verse 2] He’s the last fox in a chicken coop dream A hustler’s anthem sung under moonbeam Lamp post whispers secrets unsaid The darkest night still waits ahead [Chorus] Oh midnight raccoon under starless sky Carrying the trash where lost dreams lie Patriot of scraps in alleys he tread Takes the trash to bed like it’s all he’s fed [Verse 3] Henhouse echoes call his name Firelight eyes flicker in this game He’s a drummer in the silence bare Marching through an asphalt nightmare [Bridge] Stars burned out but the trash don’t care He’s a scavenger poet nobody dares The fox is gone but the raccoon remains Underneath rooftops and rusted chains [Chorus] Oh midnight raccoon under starless sky Carrying the trash where lost dreams die Patriot of scraps in alleys he tread Takes the trash to bed like it’s all he’s fed
