Mourning in love
Stand in Love (With the Shadow of Grief) It matters much, the words we share, To speak with patience, to listen with care. I honor the kindness you’ve offered to me, Your talents shine brightly, for all to see. Yet sometimes feelings cut too deep, And quick reactions rise from sleep. I know this path—I’ve walked it too, Learning to shape my voice anew. But there’s a shadow I carry now— The one I was about to stand in love with Has left this earth, the ultimate abandonment. I miss him so much; I loved him, told him so each day, And then, suddenly, he was gone. I see him in my dreams, And in the silent watching of a crow— Ever a messenger between worlds, A companion for grief and healing, Black-feathered reminder in morning air. I’m not without flaws; I stumble, I try, Still reaching for clarity, time passing by. But lately confusion has clouded our space, And I long for a gentler, clearer embrace. So let us grow, together refine, A stronger connection through open design. For now, I seek only friendship’s light, Where boundaries are steady, and hearts feel right. I stand in my season—both mother and fire, Balancing duty with quiet desire. If love should awaken, it must be strong, A healed foundation where both belong. I will not fall, I choose to rise, To stand in love with open eyes. Only when wholeness completes its song, Shall love be the place we both belong. And as grief transforms, I cherish the crow and the memories. Though I still ache for the one who’s gone, I strive to build anew— Rooted in healing, mutual growth, and understanding.
