Auntie Marion — “90 Years of Grace”

I remember because I was too young
for an invite to the wedding
But my sister Nancy was the perfect age
to be your little flower girl.
(Nancy was their flower girl)

Happy birthday, dear Auntie Marion,
Thank you for 9 decades of grace.
We all gather around to celebrate
90 years in your warm embrace.

Before too long, baby Janice came out of nowhere!
I was just a little kid — a total miracle, to me.
So then they followed on with Julie,
And then it was Jeff — just to make it 3.
(they all start with 'J' )

Happy birthday, dear Auntie Marion,
Thank you for 9 decades of grace.
We all gather around to celebrate
90 years in your warm embrace.

Later on, in our teenage years ,
As if Santa wasn't quite enough,
We all gathered around the Pollard's new color TV
On Christmas Eves in the late 1960's
To watch the Apollo flights to the Moon
 (they flew around the Moon)

We were all amazed by Aunt Marion's festive
 and colorfull cake decorating!

Happy birthday, dear Auntie Marion,
Thank you for 9 decades of grace.
We all gather around to celebrate
90 years in your warm embrace.

Thank you for your love and dedication,
Taking such tender care of the ceramic Flower
that Mom brought home from France for us —
Featured for years at the Pammett family grave site,
and carried home by Uncle Hugh,
to protect it from the Winter.

... Now, a little chipped and lovingly old,
I see the Flower every morning,
when I water the vivacious plants growing in my yard.
(still growing in my yard)

Happy birthday, dear Auntie Marion,
Thank you for 9 decades of grace.
We all gather around to celebrate
90 years in your warm embrace.
... 90 years in your warm embrace.

(audience applause and “Thank You”)
