Well, here comes "Billy" Billy rode in-to town, On his old brown mare, Big black hat on his head, Dust was ev-ery-where. He said, “I’m a cow-boy!” The folks all turned to stare, Then some-one asked him, “Where’d you park your mare?” Billy looked be-hind him She was gone. Oh, Billy, What are you gonna do? Oh, Billy, That horse be-longed to you! He lost his hat, He lost his rope, He lost his boots Then lost all hope! Oh, Billy, What are you gonna do? Billy saw a cow there, Stand-ing by a tree, He said, “That cow looks mighty good That cow belongs to me!” He grabbed his old lasso, And swung it round and round, He threw it at the cow there It hit the ground. Billy looked real proud, though, And said, “Got him!” Oh, Billy, What are you gonna do? Oh, Billy, That cow just laughed at you! He lost his hat, He lost his rope, He lost his boots Then lost all hope! Oh, Billy, What are you gonna do? Billy rode to Sun-set, Look-ing for his home, He saw a big red barn there, And thought, “At last! I’m home!” He opened up the door there, And walked right in to sleep, Then heard a voice say “Billy… This ain’t your ranch, you creep!” Billy froze. “Who are you?” “Who am I?” “Why’s my horse Out-side?” Billy looked around him Then he saw a sign: WELCOME TO THE NEXT TOWN. Billy said “…Oh.” Oh, Billy, Now what are you gonna do? Oh, Billy, You rode the whole day through! He found his hat, He found his rope, He found his boots He found some hope! But his horse was still Back in town And Billy had to Walk home! Way out west, At the end of the day, Billy said I’m done with cowboys. Then he opened up A chicken farm.
