Weak in the Knees ldp

WOLFMAN — WEAK IN THE KNEES DJ DR LOVE — 007 FM [Intro — Dr Love, spoken] 007 FM. Fred stepped away for a minute. Wilma stayed at the table. Then a shadow crossed that little red light. Tall brother. Broad shoulders. Wolfman. And he wasn't looking at the moon. [Hook — Wolfman and female response] Two-step close, let the bass move slow, Tell me if you want a little room, I'll let go. She said, "Right here," with her hand on my sleeve, Now she got that smile and a shake in her knees. Moonlight trouble in the red-light glow, Whole club loud, but we talking real low. One dance started with a look across the room, Now the DJ got us moving like there's nobody but two. [Verse 1 — Dr Love] Wilma at the table with her glass half full, Pearls on her neck, looking perfectly cool. Fred said, "Be right back," disappeared through the crowd, Then a tall silhouette came and slowed things down. Wolfman stopped with his hand on the chair, Didn't take the seat, just stood right there. Said, "Would you mind if I borrowed one song?" She looked toward the hallway, then she smiled too long. Grinning like a Cheshire cat, eyes shining bright, Said, "You picked an interesting moment tonight." He said, "Only if you want to." Let the question hang. Then the kick came heavy and the first hook rang. She put her hand in his, stood up from the seat, Had to find her little balance when they stepped to the beat. He walked beside her, never pulling her ahead, But she caught every quiet little word he said. [Hook] Two-step close, let the bass move slow, Tell me if you want a little room, I'll let go. She said, "Right here," with her hand on my sleeve, Now she got that smile and a shake in her knees. Moonlight trouble in the red-light glow, Whole club loud, but we talking real low. One dance started with a look across the room, Now the DJ got us moving like there's nobody but two. [Verse 2 — Wolfman] I put my hand at her waist, waited for the sign, She moved a little closer, set her pace with mine. Strong frame steady when the floor shook hard, But I kept the turn gentle, let her keep her guard. She said, "You always this quiet?" Told her, "Not always." Then I let the next few steps finish that phrase. Her fingers found my shoulder, little laugh caught short, Like the words she came with weren't the words she brought. Turned her once beneath the red overhead, Pearls caught the light when she lifted her head. Asked, "You doing all right?" She said, "I think so." Then she looked straight at me: "Don't make that turn so slow." Told her, "You can lead." She said, "You're doing just fine." So I followed how she moved instead of guessing her mind. No promise in her ear, no claim on her night, Just a deep voice asking, "Is this all right?" [Wilma — melodic rap] I came here thinking I'd be sitting in my chair, Now I'm fixing up my hair like I forgot it was there. Trying to say something clever, lost the whole first line, And that low little laugh isn't helping me find mine. You got a way of listening with your eyes held still, Got me looking at the floor, trying to hide this thrill. One song, I said. I remember that part. Then the next drum hit and I forgot where to start. [Scratch Break] Wolf-Wolf-Wolfman! Close-close! Two-two steps! Slow-slow! 007! Let that bass breathe! One-one dance! Weak-weak knees! [Verse 3 — Dr Love] Fred came back drying both hands on his pants, Saw the empty little table, then he spotted that dance. Stopped by the speaker with a look on his face, Barney said, "Well, brother, somebody took your place." Fred said, "For a song." Barney said, "Then go ask." Don't need the whole room turning this into a clash. Fred walked over when the final chorus dipped, Wilma saw him coming, loosened up her grip. Wolfman stepped back, gave the lady her space, No grin at her husband, no challenge in his face. Wilma said, "We danced." Fred said, "I can see." Then she took a breath: "Now come and dance with me." Wolfman tipped his head, let the couple walk through, But that little look she left him said the room felt new. Dr Love on the mic: "Keep the evening grown!" Then I sent that bass rolling through the whole d
