V5.5

(Verse 1) In the days of exile, under foreign skies, The word of the Lord broke the silence of lies. “Return to Me,” says the Holy One, “I have not forgotten what I have done.” The vision of horses in the night, Patrol the earth in judgment and light. The Lord sees nations, He weighs every pride, Yet mercy still flows from His wounded side. (Chorus) Return, return, O wanderer home, The Lord of Hosts will not leave you alone. Not by might, not by power, but Spirit and flame, He rebuilds what was broken and calls you by name. (Verse 2) A measuring line for Jerusalem’s wall, A priest in filthy robes hears mercy call. “Behold My Servant, the Branch shall rise,” Cleansing the guilt before heaven’s eyes. A golden lampstand burning bright, Two olive trees pour oil of light. “Not by strength of man’s hand shall this be done, But by My Spirit,” says the Lord, the One. (Chorus) Return, return, O wanderer home, The Lord of Hosts will not leave you alone. Not by might, not by power, but Spirit and flame, He rebuilds what was broken and calls you by name. (Bridge) A humble King rides on a donkey’s back, Peace to the nations where love was at lack. Thirty pieces of silver betray, Yet the Shepherd is struck—and the sheep go astray. Still the fountain is opened for sin and for shame, A cleansing stream in the Messiah’s name. (Final Chorus) Return, return, O weary and torn, For the King has come and the Kingdom is born. From Zechariah’s scroll to the cross and the dawn, The Lord of all Hosts says, “My mercy goes on.”
