[Verse 1] Tin roof tapping in the late July Got a rusted-out truck and a jar by my side Cousin picked a sack from the far fence line Said “roll one up We’re gonna have a time” [Chorus] Moonshine Weed And a backwoods good time Laugh so hard till the stars all shine Kick that dust Let the worries slide Moonshine Weed And a backwoods good time (oh, a backwoods good time) [Verse 2] Granddad’s recipe in a creekside still Corn mash bubbling at the foot of the hill Pass that bottle Take two Feel fine That sweet smoke spinning with the fireflies [Chorus] Moonshine Weed And a backwoods good time Laugh so hard till the stars all shine Kick that dust Let the worries slide Moonshine Weed And a backwoods good time (hey, a backwoods good time) [Bridge] Blue tick barking at a passing train Somebody hollers out “hit that strain” Fiddle starts crying But we’re all alright Just high on the hill and the holler tonight [Chorus] Moonshine Weed And a backwoods good time Laugh so hard till the stars all shine Kick that dust Let the worries slide Moonshine Weed And a backwoods good time Moonshine Weed And a backwoods good time (yeah, a backwoods good time)
