As child we are all born with the sight, The sight to see all even that, that they tell us does not exist, Can you remember the age you became partial and pushed into only half the world, only half the life you once lived, Can you remember the day you broke your oldest friends heart, the one they called imaginary, a forgotten gift, As we grow older our hearts grow dark, as we loose that child we once used to be, We loose sight of the shine that filled our once bright hearts, And the saddest part is some children never get that from the start, When we mature as they say and put silly notions away, become professional, Your grown folk now, There's no more room for dreams and dragons, Pay your taxes, the markets crashing, The daily rush, the moment to moment stress, Somebody tell me why we're all in such a godforsaken rush, A rush to our demise, A rush to end our lives before its time, And why not? After all we killed our innocent inner child long ago.
