Moonbeam Walker

MOONBEAM WALKER [Haunting Celtic opening — low strings, Celtic harp, distant flute] She had the sight A knowing She had the sight A knowing Sometimes visions Took her Clear as if she were there Telling her of future Or past events Her mother told her It was a gift But a secret People were afraid Of what They could never understand [Music darkens — slow, mysterious] One day on a path She found a wild wolf In a hunter’s trap She knelt beside him Looked into his eyes And released him But he did not run away He followed her Watching Watching Through the trees Through the shadows Watching Watching As if he knew her As if he had been waiting People noticed People whispered Called him her familiar They would have thrown rocks at her But she had dreamed of this She knew she must leave [Music begins to build] So she followed The beams from the moon Followed the silver light Through the trees Into the night And the wolf followed her Watching Watching Until she found A rock smooth and white Like the moon Round like the moon Glowing like the moon Power radiated from it She reached for the stone And suddenly— She could hear him Not a growl Not a cry But a voice inside her mind The wolf could speak to her And she could speak to him [Haunting Celtic drums enter softly] Energy appeared From her hands When she wore the stone Silver light Through her fingers Silver light Through her veins The wolf beside her The moon above her And she began To rise into the air She could walk In moonbeams Step upon the silver light As if it were a path Higher Higher Through the darkness Through the night She was the woman in white The Moonbeam Walker [Soaring but haunting] She had the sight A knowing She had the wolf Beside her She had the stone White like the moon Round like the moon Glowing like the moon Energy appearing From her hands She could rise into the air She could walk in moonbeams No longer hiding What they could never understand She was the woman in white The Moonbeam Walker The Moonbeam Walker She was a moonbeam streamer Walking paths of silver light And where the moonbeams touched the earth She walked into the night [Quiet ending — Celtic harp and low flute] She had the sight A knowing And the wolf Was watching Watching As she walked On moonbeams toward her new home.
