Heal Me From The Inside

There was a man who could not stand Carried by the faith of his friends Lowered down through a broken roof Hoping mercy would descend Everyone saw broken bones A body weak and worn But Jesus looked into his soul And spoke where pain was born He said, “Son, your sins are forgiven now” Words no one expected to hear For the Savior sees deeper wounds Hidden beneath our fear Heal me from the inside, Lord Where no one else can see You know the deepest parts of me And every hidden need When I come with all my brokenness And lay it at Your feet You lift my soul before my body Your mercy makes me free We come to You with wounded hearts With burdens hard to bear Asking You to fix the storms That rage around us there But sometimes in the quiet prayer You show what lies beneath The roots of pain within our souls The places we can’t reach You see the truth behind our tears The hurt we try to hide And like that man upon the floor You heal us from inside Heal me from the inside, Lord Where no one else can see You know the deepest parts of me And every hidden need When I come with all my brokenness And lay it at Your feet You lift my soul before my body Your mercy makes me free Then Jesus spoke with holy power “Rise up now and walk” The chains were gone, the man stood tall At the Savior’s gentle talk The same Lord still restores today The broken and the weak He heals the heart, He heals the soul For everyone who seeks Heal me from the inside, Lord My Savior and my friend You mend the soul, restore the heart Your love will never end I trust You, my Great Physician Your wisdom is divine You know the root of every wound And Your healing hands are mine Jesus, I trust You with my pain With every hidden scar Heal me completely, Lord of grace Just as You are Amen
