Verse 1 You made the heavens, You made the earth, You spoke creation into birth. You saw it all, and it was good, Just as You said it should. Chorus On the seventh day, You rested, Lord, From all the work that You had done. You blessed that day and made it holy, Teaching us to rest in You. So we lay our burdens down, And we trust Your loving care. On the seventh day, we rest in You, For You are always there. Verse 2 Six days You worked, then came the rest, A holy rhythm, Your very best. You showed us how to cease and be, To rest in You completely. Chorus On the seventh day, You rested, Lord, From all the work that You had done. You blessed that day and made it holy, Teaching us to rest in You. So we lay our burdens down, And we trust Your loving care. On the seventh day, we rest in You, For You are always there. Bridge We don’t have to strive, We don’t have to run. The work can wait, The day has come. You are our God, You are enough. We rest in Your love. Final Chorus On the seventh day, You rested, Lord, And You showed us what to do. Set apart a day of blessing, A day to rest in You. So we lay our burdens down, And our hearts become still. On the seventh day, we rest in You, And we trust Your perfect will. Tag We rest in You, We rest in You. On the seventh day, We rest in You.
