[Intro] Yeah... Second Kings... The kingdom's divided, judgment is coming, But God keeps speaking through His prophets. Let's ride... [Verse 1] Elijah's last walk, Jordan in sight, Elisha by his side on that holy night. "Stay here," Elijah said, but he wouldn't let go, Faithful to the finish, where his mentor would go. Then a chariot of fire split the sky apart, Whirlwind to heaven, left a fire in his heart. Mantle hit the ground, Elisha picked it up, "Where's the God of Elijah?" Jordan opened up. Water turned clean, oil filled every jar, God's power through His servant reaching near and far. Shunammite's son rose when the prophet prayed, Showing death itself must obey God's way. [Chorus] Kings come, kings go, nations rise and fall, But the Lord still reigns above them all. Through judgment and mercy, hear the prophets call, Second Kings reminds us God is Lord of all. [Verse 2] Naaman the commander had power and fame, But leprosy humbled his pride and his name. Expected grand miracles, dramatic display, But seven dips in Jordan washed it all away. Grace can't be purchased, can't be earned by might, God heals the humble who trust in His light. But Gehazi got greedy, chased silver and gold, And the curse of Naaman became his to hold. Kings kept ruling, but idols filled the land, Ignoring God's covenant and His commands. Prophets kept warning, "Turn back while you can," But rebellion kept spreading throughout the land. [Chorus] Kings come, kings go, nations rise and fall, But the Lord still reigns above them all. Through judgment and mercy, hear the prophets call, Second Kings reminds us God is Lord of all. [Verse 3] Northern kingdom sinking deeper every year, Golden calves, false gods, no reverence, no fear. Then Assyria came like the prophets foretold, Israel was scattered because hearts grew cold. Yet down in Judah there were lights in the dark, Kings like Hezekiah with a God-centered heart. Assyria surrounded, armies at the gate, But Hezekiah prayed and trusted God's grace. One angel marched through the enemy camp, A hundred eighty-five thousand gone before the lamp. Not by Judah's strength, not by sword or shield, But by God's mighty hand the enemy would yield. [Bridge] Then Josiah found the Law hidden away, Read God's Word and repentance filled the day. Tore down idols, cleansed the land, Called the nation back to God's command. Passover restored, worship renewed, For a moment the people pursued the truth. But hearts unchanged soon wandered again, And judgment was waiting around the bend. [Verse 4] Babylon rose with a conquering hand, Nebuchadnezzar marched against the land. Jerusalem burned, temple brought low, Exactly as the prophets said long ago. The walls came down, the people were led, Captive in a foreign land filled with dread. The throne of David seemed lost from view, But God's covenant promise was still true. Even in exile, hope remained alive, The Lord preserves His people and His line survives. The story ain't over, redemption's ahead, A greater King is coming just like God said. [Final Chorus] Kings come, kings go, kingdoms fade away, But God's Word stands forever day by day. Through exile and mercy, through night and through dawn, The Lord is still faithful when all hope seems gone. [Outro] Elijah's fire, Elisha's call, Hezekiah's prayer, Jerusalem's fall. Second Kings tells us one thing above all: Trust in the Lord, the eternal King of all.
