STATIC [Intro — RADIO STATIC / FEMALE ETHEREAL HARMONIES] Ahhhhhh… Ooooooh… Can you hear it? Can you hear it in the noise? shhhhhhhhhhh… [MALE — LOW, RAW, GRAVELLY] Turn it up. No… Wait. There’s something underneath. [Verse 1 — MALE] White noise crawling through the speaker, Cold electricity against my skin, Every frequency is getting weaker, But I swear I hear something within. A voice beneath the signal, A whisper underneath the sound, Every time I try to shut it out, It comes back… It comes around. [FEMALE — ETHEREAL, DISTANT] Come closer… Come closer… We are here… [BUILD — STATIC RISING] [MALE] Who are you? [FEMALE HARMONY] Who are you… you… you… [DROP] [CHORUS — MALE] I HEAR YOU IN THE STATIC! I HEAR YOU IN THE NOISE! Something's calling through me like I have a choice, Something's living in the night! [FEMALE — HIGH HARMONY] In the static… In the static… Ahhhhhhh… [MALE] I HEAR YOU! [BEAT CUT — ONE BAR OF STATIC] [FEMALE — WHISPER] Do you hear us? [DROP RETURNS — HARDER] [VERSE 2 — MALE] Every radio is screaming, Every screen is turning white, Numbers moving, voices bleeding, Something's watching through the light. I kill the power— Still it speaks. Pull out all the wires— Still it breathes. Tell me I'm imagining it, Tell me there's nothing there… [FEMALE — SURROUNDING HARMONY] We're everywhere… We're everywhere… We're everywhere… [PRE-DROP — MALE] Then why… [FEMALE] Why… why… why… [MALE — SHOUT] DO I HEAR YOUR VOICE?! [DROP] [CHORUS — MALE + FEMALE] I HEAR YOU IN THE STATIC! I HEAR YOU IN THE NOISE! Something's calling through me like I have a choice, Something's living in the night! I HEAR YOU IN THE STATIC! I HEAR YOU IN MY HEAD! Every word I can't remember, Every voice I thought was dead! [FEMALE — ANGELIC / LAYERED] Ahhhhhh… Ooooooh… We're not gone… We're not gone… [BREAKDOWN — ALMOST SILENT] [MALE — CLOSE MIC, GRAVELLY] Maybe static isn't empty. Maybe… It's crowded. [FEMALE — VERY SOFT] Listen… [STATIC] shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh… [FEMALE HARMONY] Do you hear them? [MALE] Yeah. [PAUSE] I hear them. [FINAL DROP] I HEAR YOU! IN THE STATIC! I HEAR YOU! IN THE WHITE NOISE! [FEMALE] Ahhhhhhh— [MALE] THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE SIGNAL! [FEMALE] Something in the signal… [MALE] THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE NOISE! [FEMALE — MULTI-LAYERED] In the static… In the static… In the static… [OUTRO — BEAT FILTERS AWAY] [FEMALE — DISTANT] Can you hear us…? shhhhhhhhhhhhh… [WHISPER] We're still here.
