Zombie - The Last Breach

V5.5

[Intro] (Heavy breathing, the metallic click of a weapon being loaded. A single, out-of-tune piano chord echoes in an empty room. In the background, the sound of fingernails scratching against a wooden door. Ambient wind through broken windows.) [Verse 1] (Vocals: Breathy, raspy female voice, very close to the mic) The wood is splintering, the iron bends, here’s where the road of mercy ends. We piled the chairs against the door, but they don’t feel the pain no more. Just shadows pressing ‘gainst the glass, waiting for the light to pass. [Pre-Chorus] (Building tension, low distorted drones) One bullet left, or maybe two, one for the ghost, and one for you. The silence outside is a lie, underneath a bleeding sky. [Chorus] (Deep, distorted bass pulses. Vocals: Growing more intense, raspy and emotional) Count the heartbeats, count the cost, everything we loved is lost. They’re at the gates, they’re in the hall, we built the hope, they built the wall. The hunger screams, the hunger feeds, sowing teeth like bitter seeds. In the shadow of the hive, it’s a sin to stay alive. [Verse 2] I remember names, I remember faces, now just stains in empty places. Your eyes are wide, your skin is cold, the story’s done, the truth is told. We’re not the hunters, we’re the prey, waiting for the rot to stay. [Bridge] (Music cuts to a rhythmic, heartbeat-like thumping on a hollow surface. Vocals: Deathly whisper) Scratch... scratch... scratch... Don’t breathe. Don’t pray. They find the words you try to say. Scratch... scratch... The lock is turning. The world is burning. [Final Chorus] (Maximum intensity: Industrial percussion, screeching dissonant violins, layered whispers. Vocals: Half-screamed survival desperation) Count the heartbeats, count the cost, everything we loved is lost! They’re through the door, they’re in the light, there is no god to end this night! The hunger screams, the hunger feeds, we are all they ever need! [Outro] (A loud bang - gunshot echo. Sound of splintering wood and breaking glass. Then sudden silence. Only the distant, hungry growling and the shuffling of a thousand footsteps on asphalt remains... Fade out into radio static.)
