[Verse 1] He was born in a rusted-out single-wide Mama said he came out clenchin' tight First word was a curse First step was a fight Billy never did learn right from spite [Verse 2] Corner stool Cracked boots Cheap bourbon breath He’d grin like a dare Like he owed you a debt You could be talkin' 'bout weather or the game Next thing you know You're bleedin' on your name [Chorus] They called him Blind Side Billy Mean son of a bitch Cold as January rain He'd drop you flat for a sideways glance Or sometimes for nothin' Just for the chance Blind Side Billy Swing first Think never That's his way You never saw him comin' 'Til your teeth hit the floor that day [Verse 3] Old man Jenkins Bought him his first beer Said "Boy Keep calm when trouble gets near" Billy laughed Knocked the bottle from his hand Put him down hard just to prove he can [Chorus] They called him Blind Side Billy Mean son of a bitch Cold as January rain He'd drop you flat for a sideways glance Or sometimes for nothin' Just for the chance Blind Side Billy Swing first Think never That's his way You never saw him comin' 'Til your teeth hit the floor that day [Bridge] One night the lights went out in that bar Power cut Pitch black No one saw the start But when they came back on Billy hit the ground Finally got blindsided in his own hometown [Chorus] They called him Blind Side Billy Mean son of a bitch Cold as January rain He'd drop you flat for a sideways glance Or sometimes for nothin' Just for the chance Blind Side Billy Now folks drink easy where he once held sway You never see him comin' 'Cause he ain't comin' back this way
