[Intro: Two bars, fingerpicked acoustic, soft electric answer] Mmm... [Verse 1: Close, weathered lead] Through a preacher on a TV screen, The love of Jesus reached for me. I heard of mercy, bowed my head, And trusted in the words he said. Now I bring these strings and songs, A willing heart to sing along. Lord, take the little I can bring; Give someone hope in what I sing. [Chorus: Gentle lift, restrained low harmony] Let somebody hear You when they hear me, Let a little light come shining through. Not my name they carry when they're leaving, Just the hope of knowing You. Take these simple words and melody; Let somebody hear You when they hear me. [Verse 2: Brushed snare enters, short electric fills] For the one who cannot sleep tonight, For the heart worn thin from one more fight, I'll sing of grace that meets us there, Of Jesus hearing every prayer. Let every promise that I sing Lead to the pages where You speak. When all my melodies are through, May they find their hope in You. [Chorus: Warm harmony, no belting] Let somebody hear You when they hear me, Let a little light come shining through. Not my name they carry when they're leaving, Just the hope of knowing You. Take these simple words and melody; Let somebody hear You when they hear me. [Bridge: Pull back to acoustic and soft organ] You reached me through that TV glow; Now send these songs where I can't go. One heart, one home, one open door— May someone turn to You, dear Lord. [Final Chorus: Full but restrained, soft ooh harmony] Let somebody hear You when they hear me, Let a little light come shining through. Not my name they carry when they're leaving, Just the hope of knowing You. Take these simple words and melody; Let somebody hear You when they hear me. [Outro: Acoustic and one warm electric answer] Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. Let someone hear... and believe. [End]
