[Verse 1] I found a map in a paper cup At the bottom of the bus stop bench It said, “go where the crows get loud” So I did, just to see what bends There was mud on my shoe, a coin in my sleeve And a dog by the fence like it knew my name I followed the line where the sidewalk broke And the whole wide world felt the same [Pre-Chorus] One small turn Then another I was halfway gone Before I knew it [Chorus] Follow the paper cup moon Follow the paper cup moon It points where the wild things bloom Follow the paper cup moon [Verse 2] Past the field with the bent-up sign Past the porch with the red tin can A kid on a bike yelled, “keep going on” Like he’d seen me in some older plan I picked up a stone, let it skip twice Watched it vanish in the dark water line And for one clean breath, I heard my heart Like a drum in a borrowed time [Pre-Chorus] One small turn Then another I was halfway home Before I knew it [Chorus] Follow the paper cup moon Follow the paper cup moon It points where the wild things bloom Follow the paper cup moon [Bridge] If you lose your way, just move If the road goes cold, still move There’s a little light in the crooked sky And it knows your name It knows your name [Final Chorus] Follow the paper cup moon Follow the paper cup moon It points where the wild things bloom Follow the paper cup moon Follow the paper cup moon Follow the paper cup moon
