Inspired by the legacy of Moxy Früvous, Who Will Save the Future? carries forward their tradition of sharp-witted, harmony-driven protest music. This isn’t just nostalgia for a better time—it’s a call to action for a better tomorrow. With rich acoustic textures, layered harmonies, and urgent storytelling, the song captures the frustration, loss, and resistance of 2025 America. As healthcare crumbles, individuals are targeted for who they are, and climate protections are rolled back, the question is no longer rhetorical: Who will save the future? ⁂ [Verse 1] Who will save the clinic workers? They just lost their funding Used to help the mothers, fathers, kids—now they’re left with nothing I could say, "It's not my problem," just work my job And if I don’t like the standard of living, go move to China [Verse 2] Me and Theo got sick last week, down by Miller’s well Where our grandparents drew water, told the stories they would tell Now the water’s turning yellow, tests all come back clean They say if we don’t trust their numbers, go move to China [Interlude] This is my world, this is my world, don’t let it fade away Is it a crime, spending my time, dreaming of yesterday? [Bridge] Meet me by the chainlink fence where the schoolyard used to be Before they sold it to developers, back when we were free [Chorus] Who will save the future now? (this is my world) Who will save the future now? (this is my world) Who will save the future now? (this is my world) [Verse 3] If my mother sang the songs her mother taught her In the language of our people, growing stronger Would they mark her as a threat? Call her foreign, make her fret? While the old words fade like sunset, getting softer [Verse 4] Is your hometown now controlled by corporate interests? Do you think they’ll hear your voice through their resistance? Are you watching as they crumble everything you know? I’m counting all the cracks now, watching how the wind blows [Outro] High up above, see the smokestacks pierce the morning From sunrise to the last call, they keep scoring And that would be fine If the world was yours, and you were mine [Outro] Who will save the future now? (while the sirens wail) Who will save the future now? (while the water fails) Who will save the future now? (while the light grows pale) Who will save the future? (Whispered) Who’s gonna save us all?
