The great plague was a plague that started at saint Giles-in-the-Field a very crowded place and it was a poor community. The plague was spread from the Netherlands in wool where the fleas hid and bit the rat then went on to the people. It spread because people sneezed and coughed on each other and touched each other and the fleas bit the people. A red cross was painted on their house door and their family and themselves where locked inside a person came and said bring out your dead and put them in a pit. The rich fled from London and left the poor because they were rich and could move to another place so did the king but the mayor stayed and locked up the gate to London. It stopped because of a very cold winter which killed some of the rats and the great fire of London which killed them all
