Roots of Karametra - Everything For Sale Except Meaning
There’s a billboard hanging crooked Over the skeletons of stores Still promising salvation Through designer kitchen floors A preacher on a livestream Selling wellness by the month While the river behind the city Foams black into the mud And every screen says “Buy yourself a better soul.” But nobody looks less empty Walking out with heavier bags Everything glittering Everything branded Everything begging to be worshipped Everything for sale except meaning Everything loud except truth They market freedom by subscription Then invoice you for breathing too Everything for sale except belonging Everything polished except love The whole damn world became a storefront And still nobody has enough There’s a child planting tomatoes In the crack beside the train While men in suits buy forests To destroy them more efficiently A woman trades homemade bread For somebody fixing her roof No contracts No logos No algorithm deciding worth And for one brief second The whole block feels human again Like the old world’s still buried somewhere Under all this plastic noise Everything glittering Everything branded Everything begging to be worshipped Everything for sale except meaning Everything staged except grief They’ll sell rebellion back to you Printed on imported tees Everything for sale except silence Everything owned except the rain And every sacred thing gets gutted The second somebody brands its name They taught us Consume to feel alive Compete to feel important Isolate to stay controllable You can buy aesthetics You can buy identities You can buy distractions forever But you cannot purchase communion You cannot mass-produce wonder You cannot algorithm your way into peace Because the soul knows the difference Everything for sale except meaning So we planted gardens instead Fed each other in abandoned parking lots And learned to live beyond the fed lines Everything for sale except belonging So we built it with our hands And the moment we stopped consuming The earth began breathing again
