09 Svartlfheim (Completed)

[Intro] [distorted electric guitar riff, palm-muted] [drums enter with heavy snare and double-kick] [Verse 1] [gritty male vocals] The earth closed over me Like a fist of stone The hammer down below told me I'm not alone The torches burned in colors fire has no right to own And the heat came up to meet me like a king upon his throne [Verse 2] The walls were breathing darkness Wet and close and tight And the rock itself was ancient with a hunger for the light I had no sky above me and no wind to call my name Just the pulse of something working in the deep below the flame [Pre-Chorus] They never raised their eyes to see me standing there They simply kept on working like the world above had aired [Chorus] [full band intensity, crash cymbals] Hear the hammer fall on steel that has no name Watch the smoke rise up like prayer around the flame See the hands that hold the secret of the forge Feel the dark that breathes beneath the mountain's core Every deal struck here is written in the bone Faderhamm will never let you leave alone [Verse 3] [guitar riff continues] The figures move like shadows that had learned to take a form Each bent low above their work like ice caught in a storm I could not find the border where the worker met the black Like the dark had grown around them and was never given back [Verse 4] The air was iron ancient with the taste of endless age Every breath I drew in tasted like a word from someone's page And whatever they were building in the belly of that heat Was a thing the world above would never dare to meet [Pre-Chorus] They never raised their eyes to see me standing there They simply kept on working like the world above had aired [Chorus] Hear the hammer fall on steel that has no name Watch the smoke rise up like prayer around the flame See the hands that hold the secret of the forge Feel the dark that breathes beneath the mountain's core Every deal struck here is written in the bone Faderhamm I did not leave alone [Guitar Solo] [fast alternate picking, wah-pedal, harmonized leads] [Outro] [vocal ad-libs] (Yeah!) [final heavy chord ring out]
