Jo Bench’s Devoid - Beneath The Surface

Still waters hide the deepest scars A silent face conceals the strain Hold the shape, maintain the form While something underneath remains Pressure building Out of sight Buried deeper Locked inside BENEATH THE SURFACE Something waits below BENEATH THE SURFACE Something no one knows Push it deeper Seal it tight What lies buried Still survives Cracks appear along the edge The weight begins to pull apart Every layer stripped away Exposes what was there from the start No disguise No retreat Feel it rising Underneath BENEATH THE SURFACE Something waits below BENEATH THE SURFACE Something no one knows Push it deeper Seal it tight What lies buried Still survives — Slow bass-led crawl — Down. Further down. Past the words Past the lies Past the face We recognize Strip away The final skin SEE WHAT LIVES WITHIN. — Full band crashes back in — BENEATH THE SURFACE The pressure breaks the seal BENEATH THE SURFACE Everything concealed No more hiding No disguise What was buried Now will rise Below. Within. BENEATH THE SURFACE.
