Equal Rights Starts with Equal Rights

[Verse 1] One flag flying above this southern land One law to reach each and every hand Thirty years we've said it just the same Equal rights — not up for special claim No carve-outs drawn by race or creed No faith that jumps the line for need One sky, one shore, one southern ground The same rights — that's the only sound [Chorus] Equal rights STARTS with equal rights Same rule at every door One law, one flag, one shore Equal rights STARTS with equal rights [Verse 2] Biker lifts his helmet at the door One rule for everyone — nothing more No exception carved by what you wear The same wall stands for all standing there Sixty percent drew the line No race-based constitution this time Equal treatment — no debate One law, one land — the equal state [Chorus] Equal rights STARTS with equal rights Same rule at every door One law, one flag, one shore Equal rights STARTS with equal rights [Bridge] We are Australian — we want it back No matter who gets in, something gets minced Through thirty years and still we say Equal rights — the only way [Chorus] Equal rights STARTS with equal rights Same rule at every door One law, one flag, one shore Equal rights STARTS with equal rights [Outro] Equal rights! STARTS with equal rights! Equal rights! STARTS!
