Pride doesn't always raise its voice, Sometimes it doesn't make a sound. It quietly convinces us There's no need for us to turn around. It tells us we have nothing That we need to reconsider, While the distance keeps on growing And makes hearts hard and bitter. t's easy to remember Every way that we've been hurt. To hold our reasons tightly, To think of only OUR worth. Remember there's another side, Another heart, another mind. Perhaps the most important question is, "What part of this is mine?" What is the price of pride? Have you considered the full cost? Is proving that you are right Worth the people who may be lost? You might win the argument But lose what matters most. What is the price of pride If your relationships are toast? An apology isn't weakness, And it doesn't mean you lost. But refusing to acknowledge wrong Can come at a tremendous cost. You don't have to take the blame For things you didn't do. But we should all own the things we did And try to make them right, too. Sometimes we wait for someone else To take the first small step. We count the ways they hurt us, And promises they haven't kept. But what if both are waiting, Both too proud to bend? So many years can disappear Before either tries to mend. Pride says, "If I say I'm sorry, They'll think that they were right." Humility says, "I can own my part And help bring truth into the light." Pride says, "Let them come to me, I'm not doing any more." But love asks one more question: "Is there something worth fighting for?" What is the price of pride? What are you willing to lose? Is holding on to being right Worth the love you might refuse? You don't have to own their choices, You don't have to take their blame. But if your action could help things mend, Think of all that you might gain. Pride doesn't always say, "I'm right." Sometimes it just won't ask, "Could I have gotten something wrong?" Love becomes the price of that. What if saying, "I was wrong," Costs less than holding tight? What did you let pride cost you Just to prove that you were right?
