[Intro — cold analog synth pulse] In the shadows of Rome, on a dark rainy night, A baby was born underneath candlelight, One child was lost, another took his place, A secret was hidden behind an angel's face. Five years went by, and the birthday began, Candles were burning for a mysterious man, A little boy smiling, dressed in his best, While something was watching from over the crest. THE OMAN... THE OMAN... SIX-SIX-SIX... THE OMAN... [Mechanical drum machine enters] Robert Thorn had a son, or so he believed, A perfect little family, a lie up his sleeve, Katherine loved Damien, innocent and small, But the devil was waiting behind the nursery wall. A black dog appeared in the dead of the night, A priest came running with a terrible fright, He said, "You must listen, the child isn't right, There's something inside him that lives in the night." THE OMAN... THE OMAN... CHILD OF THE BEAST... THE OMAN... [Synth sequence accelerates] Pictures developed in a darkroom glow, Lines in the photographs started to show, A shadow, a warning, a shape in the frame, A prophecy written beside every name. Brennan cried out, "You don't understand, The child has a kingdom, the world in his hand, The mother is dying, the father must see— The son of the Devil is destiny." RUN, ROBERT, RUN... THE NUMBER IS SIX... RUN, ROBERT, RUN... THERE'S NO ESCAPE FROM THE OMEN... [Instrumental — pulsing sequencer / vocoder phrases] Six... six... six... Machine of prophecy, Child of eternity, Cold little eyes in a beautiful face, Walking among us, preparing his place. Six... six... six... The photographs speak, The dead disappear, Every warning ignored, Every victim draws near. THE OMEN... THE OMEN... THE OMEN... [Bass synth drops] Robert went searching through ancient remains, Through crypts and old churches and thunderous rains, He found what was buried, he learned what was true, The child wasn't his—and the Devil knew. The final answer was carved in the stone: Damien was destined to sit on a throne, Not a throne made of silver, not a throne made of gold, But a kingdom of darkness the prophecy told. DAM-I-EN... DAM-I-EN... [Robotic vocoder] Damien is coming. Damien is near. Damien is watching. Damien has no fear. Six... six... six... THE OMAN... [Final verse — increasingly frantic] Robert took Damien and headed away, A father confronting the end of the day, A child in his arms, a weapon in hand, One final decision to save every land. He raised up the weapon— The sirens were near, He tried to explain it, But nobody heard. The police surrounded him, The story was done, Robert fell dying, But Damien had won. [Music suddenly becomes calm] At the funeral service, beneath the gray sky, Two graves stood together while strangers walked by, A little boy stood there with a look so serene, The most innocent face that the world had ever seen. He turned toward the camera. He smiled. SIX... SIX... SIX... [Long synthesizer note] THE OMEN... THE OMEN... THE OMEN... Damien lives. [Mechanical sequencer continues for several seconds, then abruptly stops.]
