[Intro] Wind in the pines Smoke on the leaves Old song rising Up through the trees Bare feet on earth Heartbeat in time Grandmother’s echo Inside my mind (hey) [Chorus] We are the forest fire Dancing in a circle wide Ash on our hands Desire Blazing through the midnight sky We are the forest fire Voices climbing Growing high Call of the drum Get higher Turn this earth to living light (oh) [Verse 1] Paint on my face Dust on my tongue I spin and I sway To the river of your drum Eyes all around Stars in the ground I follow that call Til I can’t come down (hey) [Chorus] We are the forest fire Dancing in a circle wide Ash on our hands Desire Blazing through the midnight sky We are the forest fire Voices climbing Growing high Call of the drum Get higher Turn this earth to living light (oh, higher) [Bridge] [Beat falls away Only drums Chants And distant birds] Breathe in the night Breathe out the fear Ancient and bright The elders are here Name every flame Name every star We sing the same Whoever we are (hey, hey) [Chorus] We are the forest fire Dancing in a circle wide Ash on our hands Desire Blazing through the midnight sky We are the forest fire Voices climbing Growing high Call of the drum Get higher Turn this earth to living light (oh, oh)
