Song: "When Lightning Strikes" Verse 1: Monday morning hit me like a freight train wreck Pink slip waiting with my final paycheck Truck won't start and the bank's calling in Thought I'd lost everything, didn't know where to begin But Tuesday brought a call from my old friend Jake Said "Got a contract here with your name on the plate" Pre-Chorus: Sometimes you gotta fall before you fly Sometimes the bottom's where you touch the sky Chorus: When lightning strikes, it don't just flash It lights up everything, burns bright and fast From broke and broken to king of the hill When lightning strikes, you feel that thrill What was dark gets blazing bright When lightning strikes, strikes just right Verse 2: Signed that deal with ink still wet from rain Bought a round for everyone, washed away the pain Found a lottery ticket in my old work shirt Twenty-five hundred bucks - more than my last job was worth Then she walked in wearing that knockout smile Said "Buy me a drink and stay here a while" Pre-Chorus: Sometimes you gotta fall before you fly Sometimes the bottom's where you touch the sky Chorus: When lightning strikes, it don't just flash It lights up everything, burns bright and fast From broke and broken to king of the hill When lightning strikes, you feel that thrill What was dark gets blazing bright When lightning strikes, strikes just right Bridge: Maybe losing everything was setting me free Maybe rock bottom was where I was meant to be Now I'm standing tall with my head held high Watching all my dreams light up the sky Final Chorus (Key Up): When lightning strikes, it don't just flash It lights up everything, burns bright and fast From the gutter to the mountain top When lightning strikes, it just won't stop What was black is shining bright When lightning strikes, strikes just right Outro: Yeah, strikes just right... lighting up my life From the darkest night to the brightest light
