If Santa Was Jesus and Jesus Was Santa

[Verse 1] If Santa was Jesus, would the sleigh be a cross? Would he trade red velvet for a crown that was lost? Would he climb down chimneys, or knock on our hearts? Bringing grace instead of toys, a brand-new start. [Chorus] Oh, if Santa was Jesus and Jesus was Santa, Would the world be kinder, with more love to grant ya? Would stockings hold mercy, would gifts be His peace? If the giver of joy was the Prince of Release. [Verse 2] If Jesus was Santa, would He come Christmas Eve? With His sack full of hope for all who believe? Would His reindeer be angels, their wings shining bright? Lighting up the dark on a silent night. [Prechorus] Would the cookies we leave be prayers instead? Would the milk be tears for the life He led? [Chorus] Oh, if Santa was Jesus and Jesus was Santa, Would the bells ring louder, would the spirit enchant ya? Would snowflakes feel holy, each one a small sign, That Heaven's still near, in this season divine? [Bridge] Maybe they're partners, working as one, Spreading the message of God's only Son. One gives us laughter, the other gives grace, Together they point to a love we can trace.
