Breaking Barriers: An Educational Equity Anthem (Verse 1) I've seen the classroom walls divide Where some kids get left behind Our identity, our culture's pride But equity's gonna be our ride (Chorus) We're breaking down these barriers now Cultural competence shows us how No more blind spots, no more pain Inclusion is our refrain (Verse 2) Implicit bias tries to hide Microaggressions push aside But our cultural humility Will set these learning spirits free (Bridge) From Bronfenbrenner's theory wide To teaching strategies applied Responsive teaching lights the way For every student, every day (Chorus) We're breaking down these barriers now Cultural competence shows us how No stereotype can define When education's truly fine (Verse 3) For E.L.L.s, for every voice unheard Sentence stems will give them words Visual thinking sets them free No more educational bias, can't you see? (Final Chorus) We're breaking down these barriers now Cultural competence shows us how Diversity's our strength today And equity will have its say (Outro) No more discrimination's reign Learning belongs to everyone's domain
