πΆ Song 180 β The Spirit of Truth
Paper 180 β The Farewell Discourse πΆ Song: The Spirit of Truth (Verse 1 β A Little Longer) The lamps were burning low that night, The city sleeping out of sight. The hymn was sung, the bread was shared, Yet deeper words were waiting there. "My friends, I will not stay for long, The road ahead must still be gone. Where I now go you cannot see, But one day you shall come to me." They heard goodbye inside His voice, Yet He was speaking of greater joys. (Pre-Chorus) They feared the ending. He saw the dawn. They feared the silence. He saw the song. (Chorus) If I go, you are not alone, Though earthly eyes may see me gone. For truth will live within your soul, And guide your heart when nights are long. Like living fire, like morning rain, Like light no darkness can destroy, The Spirit of Truth shall come to you, And turn your sorrow into joy. (Verse 2 β The New Commandment) No higher throne, no greater fame, No earthly monument to His name. One final law He placed above: To love as He had learned to love. Not as the world would calculate, Not loving only when it's safe. But giving all without demand, A servant's heart, an open hand. The measure of the Kingdom's worth Was Heaven's love revealed on earth. (Verse 3 β The Vine) "I am the Vine, remain in Me, As branches growing from the tree. The life you seek is not your own, It flows from roots you've never known." No branch can live by will alone, No soul can flourish on its own. The Father's life moves quietly, Through every heart that longs to see. Abide in love. Abide in light. Abide when faith becomes your sight. (Bridge β The Great Transition) The Father within. The Spirit around. The Truth awakening. Without a sound. No longer walking Galilee. No longer resting by the sea. Yet closer than before. Nearer than breath. Stronger than death. Within every seeking soul. (Verse 4 β What They Could Not See) The Eleven heard a coming loss, The shadow of an unseen cross. But Michael saw another day, When Truth would reach a wider way. No longer bound by roads and sand, Or gathered crowds in distant lands. The living message would now start To speak directly to the human heart. A universal call would rise, Beneath all nations, tongues, and skies. (Final Chorus) If I go, you are not alone, Though earthly eyes may see me gone. For truth will live within your soul, And guide your heart when nights are long. Like living fire, like morning rain, Like light no darkness can destroy, The Spirit of Truth shall come to you, And turn your sorrow into joy. The Vine still lives. The love remains. The Father's voice still calls your name. (Outro) They thought He spoke of leaving. He was speaking of remaining. They thought He was saying farewell. He was teaching them how He would stay forever. πΆ
