[intro] Here I'll tell you, Of a story, Listen closely, Parents murdered, I'm an orphan, Name is Mosi, Under Tanzanian skies, None would see it but my eyes, And now the tribesmen whisper his name ghostly, [verse] In my sleepy little village, A mad elephant did pillage, Left behind a path of ruin and bloodstains, With the name Oltau they cursed it, Hunters said it wasn't worth it, So we wept until a man called Muldoon came, Sat with us for meager supper, And he listened how we suffered, But we showed him we had little wealth or gold, He told us of Eleanor, Then on Oltau vengeance swore, He'd seek justice for us with his barrel cold, [chorus] Under the shade of the baobab, Grey Oltau's skin, bloodstained and drab, From his herd he'd been outcast, Veldt and village fear his blast, Iron-tough, his weathered hide, Bullets glance off of his side, Feet to crush, cruel tusks to gore, But he's never met Eleanor... [verse] Muldoon's poor pack mule was dyin' A replacement, none for buyin' But Mosi, he, can carry heavy loads, So a warrior's spear I'd borrow, Loaded up and left the sorrow, Muldoon and me, into the badlands strode, Trekking, tracking, chasing water, Coming up on scenes of slaughter, Lions locked eyes with Muldoon and slunk away, Beneath a baobab shady, Camped and oiled up his Lady, Said we'd wait here until darkness turned to day, [chorus] Under the limbs of the baobab, I sharpened up my spear to stab, The traps laid out the fire sparked, Then heavy footsteps in the dark, Muldoon gave me his heavy gun, Said "Boy, you aim, then shoot, then run." Then closer Oltau's trumpet roared, Great beast against a boy and man... and Eleanor... [bridge] Oltau came to the caltrops, But just swept them away, His skin showed in the firelight, Scarred ruddy, bloody grey! I raised my gun, my trigger bulled, Both barrels kicked, rounds hit the Bull, But he turned to repay me, Unharmed, my feet betrayed me... Then Muldoon came between us, His pistol bullets fly, But that trunk wrapped around him, Lifted him eye to eye... [verse] Gun empty, and feet not go-in' But I had my spear for throwin' So I hurled it at Oltau with battle shouts, Well I heard his eyeball poppin' To the ground Muldoon he's droppin' Goes to stomp, but there's a barrel in his mouth, Eleanor sang out with thunder, Oltau's mind was torn asunder, With gouts of blood the mighty mad beast fell, Muldoon rose up from the dust, Left my tribe his meat and and tusks, Mosi followed him awhile, tales I could tell, [outro] Mosi's done now, Hear the beating, Of the bongos, Some say Muldoon, Is a wraith, With black bilongo, Mosi's now a hunter too, My big gun I named Muldoon, Last I heard he'd headed off into the Congo...
