Cool morning Soft north breeze Longer shadows Of half-naked trees Leaves like ships sail For distant shores As Pa Pa snores Before his chores Smoke rises up Stone chimneys Bacon sizzles Request to Granny For grand children At breakfast feast In warm sock feet Made as they sleep Corn waiting Pumpkins too Prime picking time To see winter through Dress, in layers worn The country way To work and play This fine Fall day
