[Verse 1] I found a question in my coat In the pocket by the torn receipt It said, “What do you want right now?” I said, “Something with a pulse” You showed up with a crooked grin Like you knew the answer all along We laughed at the shape of the day Then threw the map into the pond [Pre-Chorus] Spin it once Spin it twice Let the odd one Change my life Hold my hand Don’t explain Some good things Come from rain [Chorus] Take me to the random Take me where it lands Take me to the random Let it fall in our hands (our hands) I like the way it catches fire I like the way it makes us dance Take me to the random Take me where it lands [Verse 2] We missed the turn by a mile Ended up by the gravel lot Your shoes in a puddle of gold Mine full of the same old thoughts A kid with a kite by the fence Sang a line he’d just invented You pointed like you’d seen a sign And I felt my stubbornness bend [Pre-Chorus] Spin it once Spin it twice Let the odd one Change my life Hold my hand Don’t explain Some good things Come from rain [Chorus] Take me to the random Take me where it lands Take me to the random Let it fall in our hands (our hands) I like the way it catches fire I like the way it makes us dance Take me to the random Take me where it lands [Bridge] If I planned it, I would miss you If I named it, it’d go thin But the messy little detours Keep letting the good light in So pick a road Pick a joke Pick the wild card That makes me hope [Final Chorus] Take me to the random Take me where it lands Take me to the random Let it fall in our hands (our hands) I like the way it catches fire I like the way it makes us dance Take me to the random Take me where it lands (lands, lands)
