The first time we met he had dust on his shoes and a thing for fine gals and unfinished tunes. — He followed a tale that was older than stone Of a melody sung when you’re truly alone. [Verse I] They called it the tune that could open the soul, But warned — once it opens, it won't close at all. They said it could soften the hardest of hearts A song so pure it would tear you apart. They whispered of notes that would silence a crowd, That hung in the air like a funeral shroud. So he went out at dawn, his quest true and bold The song that was lost in the stories of old... [Verse II] He searched without rest, like his soul was on fire, Roving through deserts and forests grown wild, Among deadly ruins, where no birds would sing, but the wind held its breath like a buried old king. He wandered through valleys, he climbed every hill, Chasing this tune that the silence could kill, But the notes always scattered, just out of his reach Like the tide slipping back from the edge of the beach. [Pre-Chorus I] He searched in the laughter, he searched in the pain, Through thunders and storms, through drought and through rain. He howled to the sky, and called out in vain... But silence returned — again and again. [Chorus I] For the song you seek won’t echo in calls, Nor answer in cheers or dance through the halls. It lives down and under, beneath flesh and bone The song you sing, only when you're alone. [Verse III] He tried playing for the nobles, singing to the sea, Hoping that the melody might answer to his plea. His hands knew the strings, but never the sound, That only those now voiceless, have truly found. He walked through the hush with his hope running dry, Like a leaf in the wind that refused to comply. He sang to the trees, in a half-hearted try, But the song never answered — denying his cry. [Pre-Chorus II] He pleaded with shadows to grant him the key, But shadows hold answers not given for free. He wailed into night with a tear in his eye... “Where is the music that teaches me why?” [Chorus II] But the song you seek won’t come when you call, It won’t fill the room, won’t rise and won’t fall. It stirs in the dark where truth is your own, The song that you sing when you're truly alone.. [Bridge I] In the dusk of his days, with hands nearly still, As he lay without meaning, without strength or will. His body too frail, too worn to go on, He hummed without thinking, a small, broken song. With no one to hear it, no mask to keep — Just a voice in the quiet, worn ragged and deep. It was something unspoken, unknown to his ear — It slipped from within though he barely could hear. A note with no master, a tune with no key — Always drifting through time but never longing to be. What was far when he searched, now as near as a tear... There was the melody! — Naked and clear. [Pre-Chorus III] It rose like a rattle that never was planned — A sound with no shape, spilling out of his lungs. But this song was no treasure, no curse, no decree... T’was the sound of a soul that longed to be free. [Chorus III] Oh, the song you seek won’t come from afar It burns from within, as you trace every scar. No title, no crowd, no stage to be shown, Just the voice in the dark as you're truly alone. [Breakdown] The song that you’re lookin’ for is not written down. It’s not found in riches, nor sung for a crown. It lurks in the hush where none came back from... It weeps without words, it grieves without song. From the very beginning, t’ was yours all along — It’s the sound in your chest when the whole world is gone. No witness. No grandeur. No kingdom. No throne. It’s the song that you sing when you're truly alone. [Bridge II] So mark me, young minstrel, and listen with care, The song that you seek isn’t hidden out there. It lives in the thoughts none other will know — The thoughts that you keep and carry alone. No treasure will buy it, no lips can recite — It’s the sound that resounds when you run out of light. Not glory, not gold. Not the battles you’ve won... Just the voice that remains — when you’re truly alone. [Outro] So if ever you wander with music in mind, Know the deepest of songs are the hardest to find. They live in the silence, and each writes their own — A song that is yours... and yours alone. [Coda] The last song you’ll sing… before singing is done. ⟢⟡⟣────────────⟢☢ Concept Note ☢⟣────────────⟢⟡⟣ “The Song You Sing Alone” isn’t really made for an audience. It isn’t so much a song about music, as it is a story about life. A requiem for the restless — those who only learn what home sounds like, when it’s already too late. Inspired by the man who taught me both noise and silence, it tells of a wandering bard who searched the world for meaning... while the truth waited within him all along. My father was that wanderer. Always chasing the next escape, the next party, the next noise — anything that, even briefly, made him feel alive. In the end, silence caught up to him. And in that silence, he finally heard himself. This track is my way of meeting him there — sitting with him in that quiet, where the cost of wrong choices becomes clear, and choosing forgiveness instead of holding on to the weight of what can't be undone. But more than that, it's a reminder: Do the things you know you need to do. Now. Say what you mean. Mean what you say. Love who you have. Because you never know when the singing stops. And when it does — you don’t want regret to be the only sound left. — Atomic Analyzer ⟢⟡⟣────────────⟢☢ TY 4 Listening ☢⟣────────────⟢⟡⟣
