I bought a loaf of raisin bread, Now I'm scratchin' my ol' head. It ain't for burgers, it ain't for meat, I bought it 'cause it's something sweet. Toast it till it's warm and brown, Best-smellin' loaf in the whole dang town. Butter melts from side to side, I eat that stuff with grins and pride. Raisin bread, what are you? Sweet enough to sing "Woo-hoo!" Not a cake and not a pie, Still disappears... and we all know why! All those raisins side-by-side, Like little treasures tucked inside. One more piece... well, maybe two... Oops! That whole loaf just vanished too! Raisin bread, you're mighty sly, Sweet enough to catch my eye. Breakfast, snack, or midnight spread— Long live happy raisin bread! Raisin bread, you're mighty sly, Sweet enough to catch my eye. Not a cake and not a pie, Still disappears... and we all know why!
