„It's the idea that counts“

[pfeifen eines menschen solo als intro] [Verse] „It's the idea that counts“
 „you have to know that“
„it doesn't matter if you've mastered everything perfectly“
„no, the idea has to be good“
„and your knowledge of the tools“
 „you work with“
 I said to her [Prechorus]
 and lo and behold
 she couldn't believe her ears
when the new opera rang out [amazing cello solo] [Corus]
 A firework of colors
 One beautiful melody after another
and thunderous applause throughout the hall
 Yes, I can do it
as a recognized composer and producer [Verse]
after all those years of futile effort
 I had now arrived
 the goal of my dreams
even Broadway called me with interest
and then off into the world
on tour [amazing electric guitar solo] [Corus]
 A firework of colors
 One beautiful melody after another
and thunderous applause throughout the hall
 Yes, I can do it
as a recognized composer and producer [Outro]
 It is a glamorous celebration
 with all the trimmings
„Yes, play“ was the word from then on
 „yes, play“
 and I played
as often as I could [pfeifen eines menschen solo als outro]
