Happy are those, Happy are those, Those who have decided To be happy. Happy are those, happy are those, Those who have decided to be happy. Happy are those, happy are those, They walk with a smile on their way. It’s not that they don’t have worries, No problems or burdens to bear; They know that unhappiness solves nothing— It only doubles the care. So they are happy, happy to face The same old trials with steady grace. Happy are those, happy are those, Those who have decided to be happy. Happy are those, happy are those, They walk with a smile on their way. It’s not that they’ve never failed, Or never have known defeat; Success they take with humility, And failure as learning complete. It’s not that they don’t have burdens, No money to pay what they owe; They smile and say, “We will get through,” With confidence ready to grow. It’s not that their jobs have no challenges, No mountains they have to climb; They trust in their positive attitude, And they face every challenge in time. It’s not that they’ve never known heartache, They know that their love was true; What was true can be genuinely shared, And a new heart can heal anew. These are the ones who don’t see life As a burden to carry through; They see the line from birth to death, And widen it with confidence, And thicken it with happiness, And make it a life they choose. Happy are those, happy are those, Those who have decided to be happy. Happy are those, happy are those, They walk with a smile on their way. Happy are those, happy are those, Those who have decided to be happy. Happy are those, happy are those, Happy—deciding to be happy. Happy are those, happy are those, Those who have decided to be happy. Happy are those, happy are those, Happy—deciding to be happy.
