[Intro] [soft piano melody, acoustic guitar strumming] (Hmm-mm) [Verse 1] [piano and acoustic guitar continue] A little boy stood in a crowded line His mother held his hand so tight A simple vaccine, two tiny drops Protected his future and changed his life She whispered thanks, though she'd never know The Rotarians who crossed the sea The people who gave their time and hearts So children everywhere could live disease-free [Chorus] [drums enter, bass and strings swell] Because someone cared, a child can run and play Because someone cared, hope found another way Across the miles, across the years Through willing hearts and helping hands Rotary turns compassion into plans Because someone cared [Verse 2] [drums drop out, piano and acoustic guitar] A woman walked for miles each day Carrying water beneath the sun Then one new well changed everything And a stronger future had begun [Chorus] [full band enters, driving drums and strings] Now her children go to school Their dreams no longer left behind A gift of water became a gift Of health, opportunity, and time [Bridge] [acoustic guitar and piano] A young girl opened her very first book Its pages filled with possibility A Rotary scholarship lit a spark And helped her become all she could be [drums and strings build] Today she teaches children still Passing opportunity along One act of service changed her course And now she helps others become as strong [Chorus] [full orchestral pop arrangement] Because someone cared, a dream was set in flight Because someone cared, a future grew more bright Across the miles, across the years Through willing hearts and helping hands Rotary turns compassion into plans Because someone cared [Outro] [half-time feel, heavy drums] A meal for the hungry, a mentor for youth A shelter rebuilt, a voice speaking truth A tree planted today, a peacebuilder's call One person helping one person can change the world for all [full intensity] Because someone cared, polio nears its end Because someone cared, strangers became friends Across the nations, across the earth Ordinary people do extraordinary work Finding the value in every life Because someone cared So thank the ones who quietly serve Who give more than they ever receive Join the work, relieve Because someone cared [piano melody fades] And now it's our turn
