Steward's Log - Right In It | No. 12

[Verse 1] First good rain in weeks came rolling through Strawberries on the counter, something's finally coming true Didn't plant that orchard looking for a payout fast Just fixed the ground beneath it, let the roots do the math Two weeks of running hard but never felt behind Found a nematode in the sample — something's come alive The long game's got a rhythm when you learn to trust the wait Slow work don't feel slow when you know what's at stake [Chorus] I ain't overwhelmed, I'm just right in it Deep in the mountains, every day I'm in it Hands in the dirt, heart in the work No complaints, man, it don't even hurt Thank you, Lord, for the rain today Didn't know how much we needed it 'til it came our way We ain't chasing nothing — we're just right in it [Verse 2] Taught some kids to work a tree with their own two hands Showed 'em what a healthy root looks like in this land Scraped something off a cane, sent it off to find the truth You don't guess when something's wrong — you go and get the proof Partner's out of town, I'm holding down the place Biology brewing slow, things moving at their pace Apple trees we weren't sure would make it — full of bloom Planted faith in February, fruit by the end of June [Chorus] I ain't overwhelmed, I'm just right in it Deep in the mountains, every day I'm in it Hands in the dirt, heart in the work No complaints, man, it don't even hurt Thank you, Lord, for the rain today Didn't know how much we needed it 'til it came our way We ain't chasing nothing — we're just right in it [Bridge] You can't rush what's real You can't fake what you feel You just show up every day And let the ground reveal It ain't glory, it ain't loud Just a quiet kind of proud When the soil does what you asked it to And the sky opens up with a cloud [Outro — easy, trailing off] Rain on the roof, fruit on the vine Long game playing out just fine Right in it... right in it
