Paper 69 – Primitive Human Institutions 🎶 Song: Scaffolds of Civilization (Verse 1 – The First Institutions) Threefold paths the tribes began, Self-maintenance, the work of man, Self-perpetuation, family ties, Self-gratification, vanity’s rise. (Verse 2 – Fire) Fire was the gift of night, Cooking food and giving light, From sacred hearths to temples’ flame, Science and power one day came. (Verse 3 – Animals) Enemies first, then friends of need, Dogs were tamed to guard and lead, From beasts of hunt to herds of care, Man found strength in bonds they share. (Verse 4 – Slavery) Captives taken, women bound, Cruel beginnings, progress found, Better than death or cannibal feast, Labor compelled, culture increased. (Chorus – The Scaffolds) Hard and harsh the steps were laid, Primitive hands the future made, From toil and fear the tribes arose, Civilization slowly grows. (Verse 5 – Capital) Labor saved for future days, Treasures guarded, wealth displays, Warriors held the tribal store, Industry’s seed forevermore. (Verse 6 – Trade) Raids became the silent trade, Markets born where goods were laid, Women bore the burdens wide, Commerce spread the world outside. (Verse 7 – Property) Communal lands gave way to claim, Inheritance, freedom, wealth, and name, Ambition stirred, security won, Private property had begun. (Bridge – Interdependence) Each institution, scaffold strong, Though cruel at times, it moved along, From ghostly fear to social plan, The Father’s light uplifted man. (Chorus – The Scaffolds) Hard and harsh the steps were laid, Primitive hands the future made, From toil and fear the tribes arose, Civilization slowly grows. (Outro – Destiny) Though slavery, fire, and property, Were scaffolds built in history, The Spirit guides, the ages turn, Toward the truth all hearts will yearn.
