The Medicine Wheel
THE MEDICINE WHEEL A Sacred Pattern Remembered in the Nemenhah Records [Spoken Narration — Do Not Sing] Come closer, my friend. Tonight... I'd like to tell you about one of the most beautiful symbols found in the Nemenhah Sacred Records. It is called... the Medicine Wheel. To many people today... those words bring to mind Native American history. But within the Nemenhah teachings... the Medicine Wheel is much more than a symbol. It is a pattern for living. A reminder that life is meant to stay in balance. The center of the wheel reminds us that everything begins with the Creator. Every decision... Every relationship... Every hope... Every trial... Returns to that sacred center. From the center... the paths reach outward. The Nemenhah teach that no part of life stands alone. Spirit. Mind. Body. Family. Community. Creation. Each touches the others. When one becomes weak... the whole wheel feels it. The records also describe four sacred directions. Each reminds us that life moves in seasons. There are times to learn. Times to work. Times to heal. And times to give thanks. The Medicine Wheel teaches that wisdom is not found by racing ahead. It comes from walking faithfully... one step at a time... always returning to the Creator at the center. According to the Nemenhah tradition... Moronigh, whom they call Mohrhohnahyah, taught this sacred pattern to help preserve truth after the destruction of his own people. Whether one accepts that tradition or simply studies it with curiosity... the lesson remains powerful. A life centered upon the Creator... is a life that finds its balance. Perhaps... that is why this ancient symbol continues to speak to so many hearts. [Music Begins] Verse Around the circle, Life unfolds. Ancient stories, Still are told. Every pathway Leads us home. Never walking All alone. Chorus Circle of wisdom... Circle of grace... The Creator waits At the center place. Turn our hearts. Guide our way. Lead us closer Day by day. Bridge Morning rises. Evening falls. Still the Spirit Gently calls. Round the circle, Love remains. Healing hearts Again. Final Chorus Circle unbroken. Hope renewed. Every step Brings life anew. The Medicine Wheel Points the way. Walk with the Creator Every day. (Cedar flute carries the melody as the music gently fades.)
