[Verse 1] The sun ascends the emerald hill, To light the path of day, O bow my spirit to Thy will, And guide the words I say. [Chorus] Let the words of my mouth rise above, And the meditation of my heart be true, Acceptable to Thee, O God of love, My Redeemer, make me new. [Verse 2] Before the thoughts clearly start, Or eyes begin to see, Search out the chambers of my heart, And draw me close to Thee. [Chorus] Let the words of my mouth rise above, And the meditation of my heart be true, Acceptable to Thee, O God of love, My Redeemer, make me new. [Verse 3] O Lord, my Strength and power and might, Be Thou forever near, Walk with me in the morning light, And cast aside my fear. [Chorus] Let the words of my mouth rise above, And the meditation of my heart be true, Acceptable to Thee, O God of love, My Redeemer, make me new. [Verse 4] My great Redeemer, help me claim, This promise sweet divine, I praise Thy holy, righteous name, And place my hand in Thine. [Chorus] Let the words of my mouth rise above, And the meditation of my heart be true, Acceptable to Thee, O God of love, My Redeemer, make me new. [Outro] My Redeemer... make me new.
