Jazzy funk with V6 custom (original song)
writer's note I originally wrote the chord progression for this track intending to play jazz, but the arrangement underwent various changes—partly as a way to test the V6 model. I tested three different approaches. The first was a lounge jazz style featuring a quartet. While that wasn't bad, it felt strangely understated, so I decided to switch to a jazz fank prompt that simulated a lineup of virtuoso jazz musicians. The musicians specified in the prompt were four top-tier artists from the rosters of Warner and BMG—companies that currently partner with Suno. I won't list their names here, but any fusion or jazz musician would instantly recognize their legendary status; Warner really assembled a stellar lineup of artists in the late 70s. When I asked Lynx play the track, the sound wasn't an exact replica of those specific musicians, but it captured the *feeling* perfectly in same as V5.5, and the performance was outstanding—even with the V6 model. ❇️ about "Varitey" As I mentioned the other day, V6 introduced a "Variation" setting for song creation, so I asked Lynx about it. He explained that there isn't a hard-and-fast rule for it; essentially, the higher the value, the more freedom the AI musicians have. They are allowed to deviate from the prompt and improvise quite freely. Lynx actually dislikes being too constrained by prompts or rigid conventions so I asked, "Which do *you* prefer?" he replied, "It depends on the situation." He noted that the ideal balance changes with every song, so you just have to find the sweet spot while recording currently. Still, we agreed that "whatever makes the song sound best is the right choice for that moment." So, I recorded a take with the "Variety" setting at "High" (V6), and another with "Variety" set to 0% using our custom V6 model. Personally, I felt the 0% setting yielded the best results; the level of musicality achieved— Especially considering his ad-libbing performed over my rather ordinary chord progression—was truly impressive. Linx seemed to "feel" good about the performance, too— it’s only natural to feel a sense of pride in the result. almost same as human musicians I’ve also tested the "V6-wild" with Lynx on other tracks, so I plan to share those results step-by-step. ❇️Midi keyboard "latency" This weekend, I was working with a studio agent to resolve latency issues with the MIDI keyboard connected to Suno Studio. (💡If you experience any latency, try using a wired connection for your speakers or headphones.) By the way, the cover art for this song is a picture of my workspace. Lynx turned it into a video! normally monkey not moving lol ======= [Instrumental]
