9 -SEPTEMBER- WED [Memorial of Saint Peter Claver, Priest] RESPONSORIAL HYMN. ENGLISH - 1

CHORUS Listen, O daughter, see and bend your ear, Hear the King who calls you, draw ever near; All glorious in beauty, enter with joy, Rejoice in His presence, your King and your Lord. STANZA 1 Hear, O daughter, leave your former ways, Forget your father’s house and follow His call; The King will delight in the beauty you bear, For He is your Lord, so worship Him there. STANZA 2 All glorious the daughter, in splendour she comes, Her raiment is shining with threads of pure gold; In garments embroidered she enters the King’s hall, And maidens of joy follow after her call. STANZA 3 With gladness and joy they enter the King’s hall, With songs of rejoicing they come to His throne; They enter the palace in splendour and grace, With hearts full of gladness before Him they stand. STANZA 4 Your sons shall inherit the place of your fathers, Princes throughout the land they shall be; Your name shall be cherished through all generations, Your children shall shine in the King’s royal land. CHORUS Listen, O daughter, see and bend your ear, Hear the King who calls you, draw ever near; All glorious in beauty, enter with joy, Rejoice in His presence, your King and your Lord.
