πΆ Song 157 β Upon This Rock of Spirit
Paper 157 β At Caesarea-Philippi πΆ Song: Upon This Rock of Spirit (Introduction) The road grew narrow, the hour drew near, The Master's purpose now made clear. No longer crowds from shore to shore, But deeper truths than ever before. (Verse 1 β The Family Unmet) He longed to see His mother dear, His brothers whom He loved so near. Yet Pharisees stood at the door, And they could meet that day no more. Through no one's fault the chance was gone, The waiting heart still journeyed on. The Son of Man would bear once more, The pain of love deferred ashore. (Verse 2 β The Temple Tax) The collector came with careful eyes, Seeking a trap through his disguise. And Peter answered bold and fast: "Of course He pays," before he asked. The Master taught a wiser way, To yield in peace when He could stay. For earthly things would come and go, While greater truths continued to grow. (Verse 3 β Signs of the Times) "You read the clouds that cross the sky, You know when rain is drawing nigh. You feel the south wind's burning air, Yet miss the signs surrounding here." "For hearts that seek, the sign is given, The Father's truth has come from heaven. But those who choose a blinded way, Will seek for signs and miss the day." (Chorus) Upon this rock of spirit true, The Father's light breaks shining through. Not stone nor throne nor earthly claim, But living faith within His name. A brotherhood of hearts set free, Built on divine reality. The kingdom lives in every soul That yields itself to God's control. (Verse 4 β Peter's Confession) The Master asked, "What do men say? Who am I upon this way?" Some named prophets from days gone by, But deeper truth was drawing nigh. Then Peter spoke with faith sincere: "You are God's Son, now standing here." A revelation filled the air, The Father's spirit witnessed there. (Verse 5 β The Living Temple) Not by wisdom born of men, Not by tradition's voice again. The Father spoke within the soul, And made the searching spirit whole. Upon that truth the Master stood: A living bond of brotherhood. A temple built in hearts above, United by eternal love. (Verse 6 β The New Concept) No warrior king with sword in hand, No throne restored across the land. The promised Son had come to show The Father's love to all below. The kingdom was not power and might, But sons and daughters walking in light. Not conquering nations through command, But changing hearts throughout the land. (Verse 7 β Andrew's Conference) The twelve still struggled to understand, The meaning of the Master's plan. Through many questions, hope and fear, The greater truth became more clear. The road ahead was hard to see, Yet led toward immortality. The Father's spirit would remain, To guide them through both loss and gain. (Bridge β The Eternal Foundation) Not creeds alone, Not walls of stone, Not titles raised by human hand. But truth revealed, And hearts that yield, Forever shall the kingdom stand. (Chorus) Upon this rock of spirit true, The Father's light breaks shining through. Not stone nor throne nor earthly claim, But living faith within His name. A brotherhood of hearts set free, Built on divine reality. The kingdom lives in every soul That yields itself to God's control. (Finale) At Caesarea's distant height, The twelve stepped deeper into light. And from that day the way was known: The Father's kingdom would be grown, Not built of stone, But soul by soul, Until all hearts return back home. πΆππ
